PDC Excavating Picks
Excavating picks are one of the most vulnerable parts of tunnel excavation, which are used with tunneling rock-broken machines.
The performance of excavating picks has a great influence on the tunneling ability, the power consumption of tunneling excavating machines, the work stability, the workers labor intensity, and the service life of other parts.
Compared with common alloy excavating picks, PDC excavating picks have better wear resistance, higher heat stability, longer service life, higher construction efficiency and higher cost efficiency, especially suitable for the hard rock formations with quartz rock.
Advantages of PDC Coal mining bits:
1. High wear resistance. The wear resistance of PDC is 100 thousand times of carbide alloy. And the substrate’s wear resistance is more than 10 times than of steel material 42 CrMo. It can increase the life of PDC picks greatly, especially used in medium hard formation.
2. High impact resistance. The impact strength is greater than 400 Joule. It can effectively avoid break off and increase the service life.
3. High heat resistance. The performance won’t degrade bellow 700℃. In practical use, its service life is 8 times more than that or carbide picks.
4. No spark produces when the cladding layer impacting on the rock, much safer when working in high gas coals mine.
5. The cladding layer enhances the wear resistance of cutter body, and prevents the alloy head from falling off.
6. The cutter body adopts one-step forming process of 42CrMo Material precision cold forging, improving the comprehensive mechanical strength.
7. High production rates, long service life and short change-over times ensure ultimate daily production output.
8. Formation can be used: Medium hard rock Condition, Hard hard rock Condition.
